Portland Roach

Portland Roach has a very open stone structure due to its high level of shell present within it. It has a creamy to white appearance which is offset by the grey shells within it. The shells within are also capable of changing depending on where the roach is sourced from.

Due to the high concentrations of shells, Roach is typically the most durable beds from Portland. However this in turn makes it harder to carved and therefore is generally used for sawn stones such as ashlars and copings.

Variety

Please note due to stone being a natural material it is prone to having a variety of appearances based on its colour and texture. If you have received any samples from us we recommend that they remain an accurate representation of what is currently being quarried for  two months. If your samples are older than two months then they may not accurately represent what is being produced at this point in time and we recommend that you contact us to arrange for a new sample.
