Stoke Ground
Stoke Ground is capable of being produced in top bed and base bed bath stone.
Top Bed
The top bed is a fine grained stone that has a light buff to white colour which often blends together.
Due to the top bed having low presence of shell within it, it is a great material to use for carving work although it may not be ideal when requiring a more resistant material to weathering and abrasion.
Base Bed
The base bed has a light yellow hue appearance with a discontinuous amount of grey shells, as well as having a more open grain structure than top bed.
Since the base bed has an intermediate amount of shell present within it, the stone is harder so it is great to use for applications that will be exposed to the weathering.
Variety
Please note due to stone being a natural material it is prone to having a variety of appearances based on its colour and texture. If you have received any samples from us we recommend that they remain an accurate representation of what is currently being quarried for two months. If your samples are older than two months then they may not accurately represent what is being produced at this point in time and we recommend that you contact us to arrange for a new sample.
